All too often we live in the current season of our lives as though it will last forever.  We respond to the dynamics of the circumstances, emotions and reality of that season as though it will never change.

Empower the Next Generation

A generation refers to all of the people born and living at about the same time.  Today Pew Research and other resources tell us there are 7 generations living right now.  A quick and brief study of these generations would show us that we are becoming more ethnically diverse, digitally dependent and are now fully realizing the reality of a mental health crisis in an unprecedented measure.
We can study, research and discover all kinds of data and statistics from a thorough generational research, but today I would like to share three reasons how God views generations.  And three ways we can empower the next generation.

Words That Matter: ”Thank You”

If we are not intentional on saying thank you, we will presume upon every good gift that has come from God and from others around us.  Whether you say I’m so grateful for you, or I appreciate what you did, or Thanks for your hard work on this, I couldn’t have done it without you or I owe you one, the essence of those two words “thank you” powerful to shift our perspective from unhealthy attitudes and strengthen our relationship with God and those we love so dearly.

Words that Matter: I am Listening

So, lots of people want to be heard, but how many are willing to listen? Are we investing as much time in learning to understand as we are in trying to be understood.  Is our opinions more valuable than the relationships we are trying to build.  Listening matters, it is an essential skill that can bring health to any relationship, today, I want to share with you 5 good reasons why listening matters let’s dive in.

Proverbs 14:9 states that fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.  The phrase “I Am Sorry” is something we try to teach our kids at an early age, because we know the pathway to relational health is owning up to your wrong and how that wrong has hurt others.  Yet, the “I am Sorry” phrase oftentimes is falls short of that purpose because we always attach something to it.

Today, we look at a phrase that really matters. This phrase is the inspiration behind songs, movies, books, and just about everything in society.  We can say I love chocolate and I love pizza, but what about when we say I love you to those who matter most in our lives.  Let’s dive in.

David’s Battles

David was called a “mighty man of valor, a man of war” and even though he may have been small when fighting Goliath, this young shepherd boy killed bears and lions then fought giants, escaped jealous kings and led Israel to victory against impressive armies throughout his life.   It's these battles of David that teach us something about the character of God and encourages our heart to keep fighting the good fight of faith.

David’s Confession

This week let’s reflect on one of the most one of the most well-known, humbling, convicting, and yet encouraging psalms in the whole Bible. Through this Psalm  David’s confession could be summarized by three requests…Cleanse Me…Restore Me….Use Me…so let’s dive in.

David’s Dance

Today let's take a look at the life of David once again.  This time in 2 Samuel chapter 6, David is now king, and his heart is to bring the worship of God back into the center of Israel’s culture.  Even though we see two storylines with tragic endings, I believe there is still something to learn and hope for as we take a closer look at the passage.

David and Goliath

Today, I’m going talk from 1 Samuel 17, the epic battle between David and Goliath.  This is a story about David’s faith and God’s providence to weave a story that has impacted and inspired many for over 3000 years.  Let’s dive in!
